Interesting things we did this week
- I was a slacker at Weedon Island this week. I did just short of 5 miles before I left. I was hungry. Ran some errands on the way back to the house: home depot for things to fix the fence. I had planned on fixing it on Sunday but it didn’t get done.
- After I ate, I ran a few more errands: Best Buy to get equipment to start working from home, liquor store to get vodka to infuse under the bed again, Carlas to borrow and iron the Disney patch onto my skirt. Aldi for dog food. After I finished, I got back to the house and Gil wanted to head to Tampa to see about his prescription glasses. So I unloaded the car and loaded up Gil and got him to Tampa. He was super quick and was on his game with the salesman. He knew what he wanted and did a great job at communicating to the agent. Unfortunately, there was some issue with the insurance and he wasn’t able to place the order. He’ll need to get with Carla to see what happened there.
- Ended up not getting as much done over the weekend as I wanted. I’m going to try to knock out a few things on Monday and get myself in a good place before the end of the week. The sun is starting to stay up longer, so the days will be a little longer, maybe I can utilize that extra time.
- Biden is in power now and it happened without marshal law or the world coming to an end. It’s a relief to have someone in charge that isn’t crazy.
- This week, with my lunches, I’ve added steak strips. I can buy it precooked and I can make zero carb steak sauce at home. This has been a nice change of pace. Its still a great source of protein and I can mix it up a little.
- I’ve made arrangements to start working from home next week. Gil is anxious that me working from home will mess up his internet. I have concerns that me working from home will result in a homicide in some way. But we’ll see. I’m excited to be able to multitask more. In the mornings, when its still slow, I’ll be able to work on projects or pain my toenails. On my breaks, I can work on laundry. I won’t have to super organize my meals all week long, I can change my mind and cook something hot during lunch. I’m worried that I won’t be getting the same steps in as I was before. Currently, I walk most mornings and at lunch. I’ll need to come up with a new routine, but I think it will be worth it. And I can wrap myself up in an electric blanket and stay warm at my desk.
- I’ve put together my next travel plan this week. The “march” plan has been thrown away as I probably won’t be getting a vaccine until June. So…here is loosely my next travel adventure:
- End of July – Birthday Party in Costa Rica with the girls
- August – spend 4 weeks at the Jaguar Rescue as a volunteer
- September – Hiking the Carmino De Santiago
- October – Disney around the World
- Obviously I’ll need to put a little more thought into it and solidify dates so I can purchase airfare, but I like this plan and I think its do-able.
