Interesting Things that happened this week:
- I've been doing lots of walks to finish my Hadrian Wall Challenge, but I've yet to complete a 10k in one shot, until this week. I hit Boyd Hill early Sunday morning and I knocked it out. The weather makes it more difficult, when its not 90 degrees, its raining cats and dogs. But I'm hoping the weather starts chilling out a bit. I'm wanting to sign up for more but the weather is an issue.
- I made a keto friendly chicken potpie. And no one died. I'm pretty proud of myself and it was a pretty good meal. I might try it again next week.
- hurricane season is getting interesting. No direct hits on Florida, but we are halfway through the season and only have 3 names on the official names list. We've only run out of names one other time in history, 2005. If we need more names, they'd start going through the Greek alphabet. So we could have a hurricane Zeta this year.
- I bought sketch pads and pencils and Gil and I did some went through some sketching tutorials. The one that I originally bought went too fast and Gil got frustrated. My work wasn’t much better. I need to keep practicing though. Gil found some Mickey Mouse drawing tutorials on YouTube so we switched to those after awhile and made some less horrible Mickey Mouse pictures that were a little better for our egos. I want to keep trying some of these tutorials. I’m also thinking about doing the paint classes too. It would be fun to make something real.
- I signed up for the Star Wars half marathon again. This time its virtual, so I don’t need to worry about getting scooped by the looser bus. I can do it on a day with good weather and knock it out without worrying about time. They also are doing the virtual Star Wars challenge with the 10k & half marathon. I thought about signing up with that one too, but you still have to make your time if you are going to get the Kessel Run medal, and there is very little chance I’ll be able to do it in the time requirements
- I’m planning on completing the 3rd Virtual Challenge – the Hadrian Wall – this weekend. The rain has been making it difficult and I wasn’t able to run most days this week. I’m hoping for.
- I found an electrolysis person locally and I’m getting my eyebrows done. The technology has changed a bit from when I tried it in the 90’s. There are 2 currents instead of 1 and it’s a lot more painful. My entire face hurt afterwards. But after a few more sessions, I’m hoping to never have to deal with my eyebrows again.
- Gil has spent most of the week with his leg up and icing his ankle. It’s a pretty good sprain and I’m hoping it will get better before his birthday. I bought a bunch of Groupons for his birthday, and he doesn’t need to be able to walk a lot, he does need to be able to walk. We are doing the penguin experience at the zoo and beer tasting at a couple of breweries, a booze tasting at a distillery, Sunken Gardens and I rented a Scoot Car for one hour down town. I think he’ll enjoy the activity.
- I’m off budget again, but I spent a lot of money on catching up Gil on groceries, I bought extra stuff for the keto pot pie and I spent money on various virtual challenges and Groupons for Gils birthday. I’m not wasting money on crap but somehow I’m still spending too much money. I did another GoPro video with videos I took over the weekend. I’m getting more comfortable with the GoPro Quik software, but its very limiting. I need to take the time to finish up the rest of the 30 days of GoPro video tutorials and move onto one of the other video software tutorials. I wish the library was open later, I really just start getting settled in and they are closing. 3 hours isn’t enough time.
- My Amazon Fire that I purchased in June won’t charge. I contacted Amazon multiple times and they are refusing to help me. I contacted local companies that do tablet repair and they are saying Amazon Fires can’t be fixed. So my new tablet is basically garbage.

- I made another video this week, but it Blogger won't let me upload it. It says file too big, but its the same size as the previous ones. Frustrating.
