Interesting things that happened this week:
- The bank I service at work got hacked and calls are out of control. 100+ calls holding everyday. Friday there were between 200-300 calls holding when I left.
- I've started 'donating' plasma again. I'm happy to see there are many other clinics in Pinellas and I don't have to drive to Clearwater anymore. I'm having to pay more attention to diet and hydration this time around but the extra $400 a month will be worth it.
- I was supposed to make some good miles towards my Inca Trail Challenge, but the plasma donation took a while the first two times. They said starting next week I won't have to do the extra stuff. And I'll pay more attention to hydration issues so I can walk more on the off days or maybe even on the donation days. I've stopped walking on my lunch at work this week. After talking to 60 people before 10:30am, I just needed to eat my chicken salad and play with my phone.
- I bought the dog a new "Kong" toy this week. Its a teddy bear with an inside made of rope and is supposed to be really strong. Xena immediately ripped the ears off it and started pulling out the stuffing. The damage she can do is limited because most of the inside is made of rope, but she's enjoying the process of doing whatever damage she can do.
- Florida broke its own record for daily cases 4x this week.
- Newest research is showing 2/3 of Covid19 survivors show damage to their hearts. This is a new find and I'm sure they still need to determine if that heart damage was their prior to Covid-19. After all, this is America and heart disease is a way of life. Regardless, it makes me nervous as I already have heart issues and I don't need to make them worse.
Coronavirus numbers for the month of July
US
Cases 1,842,986
Deaths 24,366
Florida
Cases 321,031
Deaths 3,494
US Deaths are declining from a monthly persepective, both April and May saw around 50,000 deaths each month. Florida numbers, however, have nearly doubled in July. With everything opening up and tourism back in business, the virus is flourishing, even with mandatory facemask laws.
