Interesting things that happened this week
- Paid off Gil's house and got the paperwork completed for the private mortgage
- Celebrated Gils house stuff with a night at Punky's with Carla followed by a bag of croissants and a lot of butter.
- I lost more three pounds finally and ruined it with a night at Punky's and a bag of croissants.
- Started back at FIS and day one was a train wreck.  I should be ready to hit the floor in a day and a half, but I'm going to spend 2 weeks in training, learning how to navigate Falcon.  Which came back to be after looking at it for 10 minutes.
- Everyone except newbies are working from home.  I, as a contractor, will not be working from home even after the probation period.  No one knows anything about what I can do and what applies to me.  I ask my trainer, she doesn't know.  I ask my old Sup, she doesn't know.  No one knows.  Its frustrating.
Baked a cake, it wasn't good.  Did some research and consulted some people.  Turns out my baking powder was probably dead (didn't even know this was a thing, but learned a lot about baking powder today) and I over mixed it.  You are only supposed to mix it until its good enough, not perfect.  I'll try again after Gil finishes this cake.
- Gil got a call from an old friend wondering if Gil knew of anyone renting a room.  Surprise!  Gil is renting a room.  We are meeting with him next Monday to find out what his needs are and if we can meet them.  It would be really good for Gil to have a good roommate and if he puts it into the house, it will help him get his capital down faster.
- Records continue breaking in Florida with the re-opening July 3 was record breaking with 11,458 new cases and 18 new deaths.  Local hospitals are overwhelmed and are turning away Covid patients at the door.  One of the girls that I work with, her BFF works in one of the local hospitals and she said they are drowning in cases.  The staff is infected and continuing to work with patients because there isn't anyone else to do it.
- Work isn't fun, I'm doing two weeks of training when all I really needed was a refresher.  The step by step instruction on how to use Falcon is wasting time.  The trainer is new and inexperienced and I keep interrupting her because she doesn't explain things clearly and it drives me nuts.  But I'm also inadvertently undermining her authority and probably making her more nervous and insecure, which isn't what I want to do.  She needs the experience to get better but the people on the floor also need clear answers to the their questions.  I expect she is really good on the floor, which is why she was offered this opportunity.  But someone should have trained her on how to be a trainer.
- Fireworks have been canceled.  Another cancelation due to Covid-19.  I'm not sure I get this one, just spread them out more so everyone can get a fireworks show from their back yard.  All the fireworks have sold out all over Tampa Bay so I expect we'll all get a fireworks show anyway.  I dislike fireworks, as they are loud and well....loud.  I expect Gils neighbors will be blowing things up all night long.
- Record high on cases again on July 4th with 11,458 new coronavirus cases in Florida.
