Interesting things that happened this week

- Spending the next week + with Grandma
- The dementia is more obvious now than it was in the past, but she's still in pretty good shape.
- I baked chicken legs in the oven all by myself.  Defrosted in the microwave then cooked in the oven.  I made them for grandma, so I won't be eating them.  But I made them Keto, so I could have one if I wanted.  I might have one.  Just to know they are ok to eat.
- We watch tv a lot.  The Trump campaign commercials are on regular rotation on the tv.  I don't mind them as much as I thought.  The commercials are weak, and they insinuate that any other president wouldn't have reacted as well as Trumpette during a global pandemic, which is ridiculous, but for the most part they are just kind of laughable.  Which is good, as I can stay in the room and my head doesn't explode.
- Monday was first day of hurricane season.  We are expected to have have over a dozen hurricanes this year.  I feel like I should prepare grandma more, but its not my job.  Mitch is here usually and he'll take care of it.
- The death (murder)of George Floyd by a police officer in Minnisota has triggered nation wide protests.  Some of the protests are turning violent and criminals are taking advantage of the protests by looting and damaging property.  Target has shut down 200 stores in hot spots and travel is discouraged as roads are being blocked or shut down in areas where the protesters are congregating.
- By June 2nd, there were three named storms.  This is a record.  Hurricane season is going to be interesting this year.
- Grandma hasn't been walking for the last couple of years.  She thinks she is, but she isnt.  She's walked with me four times this week.  Only 1/3 of a mile, but under the circumstances, I think that's pretty good.
- I found a nice park called Trout Lake Park, within easy driving distance from grandmas.  Its a nice way to blow an hour while I'm there.  They have lots of hiking and the terrain is well maintained.
- I made chocolate chip cookies and snickerdoodles this week.  Both turned out really well.  I'm debating a new career in cookie making.  I can be the Cookie Lady and do cookie delivery and cookie catering.
- I think my FIS job is a go, its just about dates and time now.  I got confirmation from FIS and a request for an interview at Walmart at the same time.  I keep putting off the Walmart request until I get a solid date and time for FIS.  Their lack of confirmation on scheduling is annoying?
- Universal did a test run to open this week.  SeaWorld and Disney announced dates in the next couple of weeks.
- Saturday, June 6 the Tropical Storm that went to New Orleans raised havic all over Florida.  Tornados everywhere in Central Florida and I hunkered down in Grandmas trailer until they all passed.
- Cities that are experiencing large protests are also experiencing spikes in coronavirus cases.  But those are mostly large cities and as the world is opening back up again: restarurants, theme parks, night clubs etc, it can't all be blamed on the protests.  Everyone is relaxing their safety and it showing.
- Overall, the week was one that will make history.  International protests during a global pandemic while hurricanes are trying to get in on the action.  There wasn't a slow news day this week.
