March 4, 2020 - Newport Beach Whale Watching 2.0

We headed back out for whale watching again, hoping we'd get luckier this time.  Checked in with our free vouchers and made our way to the boat.  We packed our own drinks this time as boat alcohol is expensive.  I stayed inside while we were heading out but I didn't stay there very long.  We only found one whale but we followed him for awhile before the boat people found a feeding frenzy that involved dolphins, sealions, seagulls and one lonely pelican.  There must have been a lot of fish.  Photos were hard because there was so much activiety and you never new when the next marine mammal was going to emerge.  But I got some shots.  Soon after we ran into a pod of common dolphins, common dolphins travel in large groups and love playing in the boat waves.  This was a good day out at sea.
