March 1, 2020 Disneyland

The hotel I chose is a hotel I've used on two other occasions.  I love this hotel because its at the edge of the employee parking lot and you can walk through the lot, into the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure and meet the shuttle.  Its a 10 minute walk.

Due to new construction on the parking structure, Disney decided to make that option void.  After all, people that can walk to the park don't pay for parking.  This pissed me off.  But at least the hotel had a sign posted at the front desk so we didn't get surprised in the morning.  I feel bad for the hotel, because it isn't an awesome hotel.  The only reason people stay there is because they can walk to the shuttle.

She we gave it extra time in the morning, and really it isn't a bad walk.  We skipped the shuttle and walked straight to the parks.  They did restructure the parking garage quite a bit.  So its only convient to use it if you are actually parking there.  For us to access it, we would have had to walk an extra block past the parking garage, climb a flight of stairs, then walk the bridge back to the parking garage and back down the stairs.  Sometimes the lengths that Disney goes to in order to make a buck are disturbing.

Gina had a friend in LA and we arranged this day so Gina could hang out with her friend.  I should have just excused myself and let them hang out.  I originally suggested it and Gina didn't want that to happen.  Instead we wondered about, did a couple rides and sat on a lot of benches.  After 3 hours, I excused myself and went and did some things.  This day was mostly wasted.  I don't mind doing Disney casually if I have an annual pass.  But I didn't have an annual pass, I paid $330 for a two day ticket and I
didn't want to spend it sitting on a bench.  In the end, I did a few things on my own, then reconnected with Gina and did a few more things and we left too soon and unsatisfied.  Her friend could have given us a ride back, but she didn't so we walked back to the hotel.  After putting 12 miles on hour feet already, it was a long painful walk.  We were supposed to do Disney again the following day but we decided to rearrange the schedule some and give our feet a break.
