February 20-23, 2020 - Lancaster, CA

I arrived at my Aunt and Uncles house early on the 20th.  Did a little drive by at the local library to utilize the internet and onward to see family.  It turns out Aunt Joni and Uncle Dan had a houseguest named Suzy that was going to be there for a few weeks.  I was there from Thursday to Sunday.  The main purpose of my stopover was to see Uncle Dan play music at a local venue, but I thought it would be nice to visit with family as well.  Not very familiar with this side of the family.

Aunt Joni came down with the flu within 24 hours I was there, Uncle Dan was in and out all the time and I was left with Suzy for most of the visit.  Another Michigan native, so we had somethings to talk about.  Learned she was angry that kids couldn't eat PB&J in school anymore because some kids are allergic.  Kids rights to peanuts rank higher than another kids right not to go into anaphylactic shock.  I explained that children could die.  She explained I was wrong.  I'm glad she's old and not in charge of children at school.

She also explained that in an RV, if you didn't have access to a dump station, you could just empty your tanks in a cow field or something.  I said I didn't think this was safe and she said it was fine.  I googled it.  Dumping black water is not only dangerous, its illegal and in some states can be a felony.  Apparently people look down on other people dumping raw sewage on their property.  I'm glad she sold her RV to her son.  I hope her son has more sense.

I spent some time doing laundry at a local laundry mat and reorganizing my car some.  I found some thing that I'd lost a few months back and that made me happy.  I also reviewed some museums in the area and they have a bunch!  Nearly every one of them has weird specific hours (1st Saturday of the month only) and/or are by appointment only.  So didn't catch any museums.

Saturday, we went to The Hanger where Dan was playing music.  The cider was good, the food was good and Dans music selection was excellent.
Sunday, Aunt Joni was feeling better so I visited with her during the afternoon and got a late start in the evening.  My plan was to hit the Blackbird Airpark in Palmsdale, about 30 minutes south of Lancaster.  I got there right at dusk and discovered they had more than the SR71, they also had an A-12 and a whole lot more cool looking aircraft.  I decided to crash in Palmsdale overnight and hit the Airpark in the morning.
