Started the day off at the Route 66 Interpretive Center. This one wasn't free, but my app said it was something special, and it was. The museum was designed by the same person that designed the Oklahoma City Memorial and it is brilliantly done. There are multiple station and each station has specialty seating and a video. The seating could be a plastic "bed" to represent the motels or original seats from a classic car. One area had original seats from a movie theater. Part of the floor was a map with Route 66 highlighted. There were photos have famous Route 66 places landmarks and glass etchings of book pages. It was really creative and well done. I entered with a family but they left after about 30 minutes, so I had the whole museum to myself. I explored and then went to find the manager to ask a million questions (cause that's what I do). This was a great stop and I'm glad I made the effort.

I left the museum after roughly 3 hours and made my way through a number of small town and taking photos of list items until I hit Arcadia, OK. Arcadia is well known for two things: the Round Barn and Pops soda store. The round barn is interesting. Its round and its a barn. I watched a little clip at the museum of watching people working on the barn and they were having a hard time figuring out how the original owner built the barn, lol. Onto Pops...Pops is well known for

having a giant pop bottle sculpture out front and having a large selection of soda pops. The selection wasn't nearly as large as I expected...they did have a large selection of brands but not necessarily flavors. I think I saw 30 brands of orange soda alone. But I did find some odd ball flavors and I picked up a six pack: lemon meringue, butterscotch rootbeer, maple rootbeer, banana nut, blue cream & grapefruit.
All morning long it was cold and rainy and it hadn't got much better at this stage. The night before I had booked a motel in Oklahoma City for two nights. Needed to take some time to get reorganized and such...but with all the dreary cold rain, the hotel couldn't have come at a better time. I checked the weather and it was going to be bad for two solid days. So I got my soda from Pops and worked my way steadily towards OKC.
