Route 66 - Day 1 - Oct 9, 2019

Chicago

Chicago is a horrible place to drive and I will never take a vehicle there ever again.  Trying to follow my Route 66 directions while trying to switch lanes, maneuver horrible traffic and dodge construction...I decided I was going to bypass most of my Route 66 landmarks and hope I could escape Chicago safely.  I got a few photos and I saw most of the landmarks but chose not to cause a major accident by attempting a photo.  Even once I was out of the city of Chicago, things were still pretty hectic.  My first day went very slow and I made very little progress.  Finally stopped for dinner at a famous Route 66 restaurant: Dell Rhea Chicken Basket.  I paid way too much for a chicken sandwich and it was really bad.  Worked my way to Joliet and took a couple of photos before deciding to call it a night.  Too hard to get good photos in the dark.

Corona US Cases August 30 - 5,893,373 Corona US Cases September 5- 6,141,077 Corona US Deaths August 30 - 171,588 Corona US Deaths September 5 - 176,942 Interesting Things that happened this week: - Got back on the walking wagon this week.  After two weeks of slacking, i got the bug back again.  I think with the plasma donation twice a week plus doing miles outside in Florida in summer, the hydration thing is taking its toll.  I try to hydrate all the time, but I don't think its enough.  Two weeks of not sweating my ass off on a semi daily basis has made me feel better. - Met with Bree at the Largo Central Nature Preserve again and we knocked out 3 miles there.  I did a little more after she left, but Bree kept up for 3 miles.  I think that was a little challenging for her but I'm excited she was able to keep it up.   - Headed...

Nov 8, 2020 Coronavirus US Cases    9,731,932 Coronavirus US Deaths  224,752   Nov 14, 2020 Coronavirus US Cases.  10,593,946 Coronavirus US Deaths.  231,803   Interesting things that happened this week Sunday Gil finally did his 5k and earned his Wizard medal and wand.  I was just happy to get it over with.  When I first ordered those I was still just barely completing the 5k distance and was working towards a 10k distance.  Now, I’m doing a 5k (or close to it) every morning before work and doing half marathon distances on the weekend.  It annoyed me to have the package sitting there with our shirts, wands and medals in it.  Now its opened and distributed and I don’t have to worry about it anymore.  After Gils 5k, we went for a beer tasting at a local brewery called 81 Bay Brewing Co.  We got a sample of 4 beers so we each choose 2.  They had no low carb beers so I ended up getting 2 f...
