And a new beginning awaits....

The date is April 29, 2019.  At the beginning of the year, I had big plans to spend most of this year traveling.  However, what I plan and what actually happens are two different things.  My plans to travel Route 66 have been repeatedly delayed, the sale of my house is also delayed and they only thing that is 100% set in stone is the 6 week trip to Africa I am planning.  Airfare is purchased, safari paid off and I don't really care if my house isn't sold yet...that trip is happening.  In the meantime, I'm spending way too much time watching tv, eating pizza, gaining weight and drinking vodka.  I quit my job April 13th with the idea that the sale on my house would close May 1st.  But the buyer is running into some speedbumps and has asked for an extension to take care of a family emergency and get his ducks in a row.  I have agreed...mostly because I like the buyer and I would really like him to buy my house.  However, being the obsessive planner I am, I am also making a B plan incase that doesn't happen.  I may also take a few days and do some local traveling this month...just to clear my head and break up some of the negative habits I'm beginning to develop.

So my goals for May are...
1. Back to marathon training.  I quit marathon training because it was taking up too much time and I was working all the time and had too much on my plate.  I can't use that excuse anymore, I'm no longer working and have enough time to spend an hour a day working out.
2. Back on marathon training diet.  My health is in steep decline and I'm stress eating (and drinking) and its time to get a handle on that.  I've gained 30lbs this year.  Mostly due to stress but time to get that refocused in a healthier direction.  I need to remember to take my meds and vitamins everyday and be more aware about what I'm eating.  Pizza may taste good but it does horrible things to the waistline if its the primary food source.
3.  Finish getting my house in order.  One of the reasons that I was so open to delaying the house sale is that it gives me extra time to get my stuff in order.  I won't be moving into another house or apartment.  I will be traveling full time for the next few years.  This means a good amount of my stuff is going to go into storage.  Luckily I have friends and family that are willing to take a few boxes here and there.  The majority of my possessions are going to be sold or given away, but I have enough items I plan to keep long term that I need to make long term storage plans for them.
4. Pull out the GoPro and figure out how to use it and edit the videos.  I know its not that difficult, I just haven't taken the time do learn yet.

So...instead of the planned Route 66 or backpacking through Budapest...this will be my May.  There is still June....

Also, I cut off all my hair and dyed the rest blue :)
